DLP Soufriere by-election hopeful says small business and women entrepreneurship top on her list5/18/2016 Denise Charles, new candidate for the Dominica Labour Party (DLP) in the upcoming by-election to be held in the Soufriere Constituency on June 7, says her main focus for that constituency will include small business development and women entrepreneurship. The 36-year old Pointe Michel resident was officially launched in that community on Saturday. A by-election is that constituency became necessary following the resignation of Ian Pinard on Tuesday April 26, 2016, as the Parliamentary Representative, who vacated his seat because of what he said were allegations of inappropriate behaviour. Charles says, although the challenges are great, there is still a lot of hard work ahead, but it can be done by working together. She cautioned constituents not to get side-tracked or caught up in any rumours and false perceptions.
