Since the announcement of the June 7th by-elections, the issue of sexual abuse of minors has been the center of attention, as two prominent individuals were charged for sexual involvement with a minor.
She stated that she will not engage in a campaign of character assassination, as she is a god fearing person.

​Meanwhile, Charles vows to help youth make use of their productive years. She says the youth of the Soufriere constituency have decided to reject the politics of hate, and are willing to work with politicians, if the representative is prepared to work with them.
She said to the youth that their present does not represent their future, if they are willing to work, study and learn. She vowed to support them in meeting their goals.
