President of the Dominica Manufacturer's Association Severin McKenzie says the lack of dialogue among professionals here is hindering the country's economic capacity. McKenzie says there has to be an increased communication among professionals if more jobs are to be created. Last Wednesday a campaign dubbed "Buy Dominica Campaign" carded for the month of September was launched. The Dominica Manufacturer's Association (DMA), Dominica Coalition of Service Industries along with the Dominica Export Import Agency Dexia and the Ministry of Commerce, Enterprise and Small Business Development collaborated to launch a campaign to bring attention to the local products and services of Dominica. Among activities will be a symposium for both the manufacturing and services sector on September 15. McKenzie is hopeful that this symposium will provide an avenue for increased dialogue among professionals. McKenzie says there will be no foreign consultants at the symposium and instead local professionals will air out the issues and concerns among each other.
