The Dominica-Anguilla Relief Team, JAYS Limited, and Harper Collins Publishing, have contributed relief funding to the Ministry of Education, to the value of about $100,000.
Owner and Manager of JAYS Ltd., John Lewis, presented The donations to the officials of the Education department on Friday. Lewis noted that he felt “honoured” to contribute to the relief effort, and encouraged others to do so as well. The Anguilla-based ‘Nature Islanders Club, initiated by Hyacinth Augustine from Dominica, raised EC$28,200, to share among schools on island by May 31st 2016. Every Secondary school will receive $500, and primary schools to receive $300. Additionally, JAYS Ltd donated 150 chairs for purpose of refurbishing schools, and Harper Collins Publishing donated 420 books, comprising of dictionaries and CSEC workbooks for Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Integrated Science (60 of each).
