Dominica is facing a “serious spiritual dilemma” says Northern Pastors Fellowship Rep, Pastor Cameron Robin, as he addressed a “Rally on Child Abuse in Dominica”, held at the Peebles Park in Roseau on Saturday, organized by the Coalition of Evangelical Pastors and Leaders, to further raise the issue of child abuse in Dominica. The rally was held under the theme: “Preserving God’s Heritage”
More than 17 Pastors from churches across Dominica were present. According to Pastor Robin the main source of the problem is, “not political.” He added, “We have realized that the enemy has unleashed his forces against our nation. We believe Dominica is in a serious spiritual dilemma and the source of our problem is not political. The source of our problem is spiritual”. He further stated, “This is happening because by and large, we have departed from the foundation of the truth of the living God.” According to Pastor Robin, whenever truth is absent, the enemy seizes the opportunity to introduce his theory upon the nation. “Truth comes from the presence of God; truth is God Almighty. The principles and the foundation of the nation must be built upon the foundation of truth, otherwise we will be living a lie,” he stated. “We have seen how the enemy has ravaged our nation; we have seen how the enemy has brought destruction upon our nation; we see how the enemy is destroying the nation and has disrupted the nation,” he remarked; and added, “In many places around us, we see the spirit of greed and corruption.” Pastor Robin highlighted problems of violence against children and the vulnerable in Dominica. He said, “It breaks our hearts that what we see displayed before us, is not given the attention it deserves, and that we are destroying the very future of Dominica, by not giving it the kind of attention it deserves. We see compromise at the highest levels in the churches of this nation; and we see misgivings in the judicial system. As we see those things unfold, we know that is a testament of the fact that as a nation, we have forsaken God. We have set God aside and opened our hearts to ideologies of men. We need God in this nation.” The solution to the problem or crisis facing us is not in a political agenda, “It is in the church of the living God.”
