Dominica is simply too small to include some people and exclude others says Dr. Francis SeverinĀ12/5/2016 Photo Credit: Dominica News Online While many share the view that the ruling DLP has neglected the communities of Salisbury and Marigot simply because of their political preference, Director of the UWI Open Campus Country Sites, Dr. Francis Severin, says it is a sad truth that the divide and rule strategy works well within Dominica's small population.
Some 50 Salisbury residents are currently before the courts for taking protest action last year for attention to be given to their roads. Meanwhile, residents of Marigot have made several pleas for their hospital to be reinstated at the soonest possible time after mold and fungus infestation forced its shut down. Delivering the feature address at the 11th annual Dame Mary Eugenia Charles Memorial Lecture Thursday, Dr. Severin shared the view that Dominica is simply too small to include some and exclude others. "We need all human resources on board." he said
