Dominica & Martinique renew educational cooperation agreement for teaching and learning French2/1/2016 And Dominica and Martinique have renewed an educational cooperation agreement for exchanges in teaching and learning the French Language. The 3-year agreement was signed Friday by Dominica’s Education Minister Petter St Jean and the Head of the Academy of Martinique Katherine Berthel-Laveneura. St Jean says it is imperative that Dominican students are exposed to the French language. He noted this is especially so, as government recently took a decision to have French incorporated in all primary schools across the country. Meantime, St Jean says the strong French influence in Dominica serves as a pre-requisite to expand learning & teaching of the French language. The first agreement was signed in January 2012 in support of the French Embassy to the OECS member states & Alliance Francaise of Dominica.
