Dominica National U-19 team off to St. Vincent for the WINLOTT Inc. Windward Islands U-19 Tournament6/23/2016 Dominica’s National U-19 team has been selected, and is off to St. Vincent & the Grenadines (SVG), to participate in the WINLOTT Inc. Windward Islands U-19 Tournament, which is scheduled to take place from 27th June to 3rd July.
The team comprises: Alick Athanaze (Captain); Deon Burton (Vice Captain); Tahj Tavernier, Brian Joseph, Lee Louisy, Shervon Dorsette, Daneal Dupigny, Melvin Defoe, Leon St Jean, Kassim Peltier, Jahseon Alexander, Terrell Toussaint and Leic Charles. Reserves are Lincoln Durand, Kernel Joseph and Ethan Doctrove. Alick Athanaze says he is delighted to be the captain. “I’m elated to be captaining the National U-19 team and we’re going to try our best to bring the trophy home. The Team has been training hard for the last seven months, and having come second last year, we’re looking to move up to the top spot”. The team will be accompanied by David Johnson (Manager) and Sam Kirnon (Coach). Dominica will come up against host country and defending champions, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Grenada and St. Lucia. According to a release, the team was identified by a panel of selectors put in place by the Dominica Cricket Association (DCA), and which was headed by Charles Walters (as Chairman).
