Dominica receives Grant Aid from Japan to boost its Fisheries Sector with needed Equipment11/16/2016 The Fisheries Sector is said to have received a boost, as the Government continues efforts aimed at improvements. Equipment was made available through Grant Aid from the government of Japan to Dominica, as a token of friendship and cooperation between the 2 countries. The Equipment was officially handed over to the Fisheries Division on Monday, for refurbishing and outfitting several fisheries complexes across the Island. This includes refrigeration equipment and submerged FADs. An insulated truck and will benefit the Portsmouth Fish Centre, the Roseau Fisheries Facility and the Marigot Fish Landing Facility. The handing over ceremony was held on Monday afternoon at the Roseau Fisheries Complex. Agriculture and Fisheries Minister Johnson Drigo addressed the handing over ceremony. Drigo says the project also included the release of Fads and a new insulated truck.
