Dominica sends 20ft container to Haiti
A 20ft container of supplies was sent to La Caye Haiti on Monday.
La caye was one of the areas hardest hit following the passage of Hurricane Matthew earlier this month.
Speaking with media recently, PM Roosevelt Skerrit said a 40ft container would be sent to Haiti and would be coordinated through CDEMA.
However, National Disaster Coordinator, Cecil Shillingford, in an interview with the Government Information Service, said a 20ft container was being sent to Haiti Monday and another 20ft container will be stuffed this week for The Bahamas.
Shillingford says these donations are possible following the overwhelming response from the Dominican public after an appeal by PM Skerrit to business owners to organize a Haiti relief effort.
