Dominican born Rosalind Severin McClean aka Rosa, receives Cultural Achievement Award in New York10/14/2016 Ms. Rosalind Severin McClean aka Rosa has been given the Cultural Achievement Award for Creative Contribution Promoting Dominica’s Culture. The Award was presented by The New York Portsmouth Roman Catholic Church Rebuilding Initiative Group (NYPRCCRI) on October 1st, 2016, at their Cultural Gala in the Bronx, New York.
Mrs. McClean has been heavily involved with the youth, teaching drama, dance, choreographing dance routines and productions, and directing shows. Her background in cultural dance runs deep with an attractive mixture of Belaire, West African, Afro Caribbean and Afro Brazilian flavors. Her dance group ROSA Dancin’ Belaire which was made up of children and adults, celebrated the cultural life of Dominica, by dancing the various steps of the cultural dance, Belaire. Rosalind has received other awards for her impressive and outstanding Bele productions in the USA.
