Dominican National found dead inside an SUV in St. Thomas on April 10, 2016 with two gunshot wounds4/12/2016 Nineteen-year old Joseph Ducreay, a Dominican National, was found dead inside an SUV in St. Thomas on 10th April 2016, with two gunshot wounds; one in the chest and another in the head, but the vehicle had apparently suffered no damage.
Ducreay was named as the victim in a report by ‘The Virgin Islands Consortium’s’ online newspaper. He was reportedly identified by a next of kin. A report indicated Ducreay was discovered in the SUV in an area called Anna’s Retreat around 6:00PM, in what Police Commissioner Delroy Richards described as a “mystery death”. “Obviously there was more than one person in the vehicle, but what took place is a mystery at this point,” Mr. Richards told The Consortium. He said police officers were dispatched, after the force’s ShotSpotter equipment detected three gunshots, and upon arrival on the scene, they found the victim’s lifeless body sitting inside the locked vehicle. The Virgin Islands Police Department is asking anyone with information concerning this incident to call the Major Crimes Unit at 340-642-8449, 911, OR the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers USVI, at 1-800-222-8487.
