Dominicans residing in the British Virgin Islands to be treated to a weekend of creole festivities10/28/2016 Dominicans residing in the British Virgin Islands, and who are unable to return home for the Independence celebrations, are nonetheless expected to receive a weekend of festivities.
Gracie Sandy Eusebe, a Dominica Chef at Island Sizzle in Baugher’s Bay in Tortola, has apparently planned a weekend of activities commencing today Friday 28th October 2016, at her workplace. Eusebe says the activities will be centered around the culture of Dominica. Eusebe says three DJ’s and a band with ties to the ‘Nature Isle’ playing back to back tunes, will serenade patrons, while patrons enjoy various Dominican foods prepared by Eusebe and her team. She adds that patrons will also have the opportunity to reconnect with old friends, and to make new ones. She said, “I did it the first time in 2014, but I was not available in 2015, so I decided to do something this year. Just a little something to make those who didn’t go home, to feel some Dominica vibes.” Eusebe hopes that the old flames of the Dominica Association, that was once operational in the BVI, will be rekindled.
