Dominicans surprised a shadow is cast over Fr Cuffy’s, whilst Baroness Scotland’s citizenship is celebrated

Meantime, MP for the Marigot Constituency and Leader of the UWP Lennox Linton is disappointed in the fact that the DLP Administration is celebrating the Dominican citizenship of Baroness Patricia, although she has not lived in Dominica for over 6o years, while at the same time, a shadow is being cast over the citizenship of Fr Franklyn Cuffy, who is of Dominican parentage, and who has lived in Dominica for over 60 years.
 
Reports have confirmed that Baroness Patricia Scotland migrated to Britain since she was two years old. Linton argues, that ironically, while Baroness Scotland left Dominica at the age of two, Fr Franklyn Cuffy came into Dominica at that very same age, and invested 65 years of his time and service to the Dominican Public, in his capacity as a priest.

Fr Cuffyhas performed many marriages, funerals and church services in Dominica for over 60 years, and he is now being told by Dominican Immigration Officers that he has to apply for Dominican citizenship.
 
Fr Cuffy and has been issued six different Dominican passports during those sixty years,from the immigration department, and was reportedly never told that he had to apply for citizenship in the past. Linton says to the DLP Administration, ‘let’s get real in this country!’
