The announcement was made by DOWASCO's General Manager, Bernard Etinoffe.
He told the Government Information Service prior to ‘Erika’, they were nearing 100% access to portable water but the storm created a major setback in that endeavour.
Meanwhile, Etinoffe says some of the water systems put in place are temporary. He made specific mention of the Salisbury water supply. Currently, the company has been sourcing water for that community from the Picard intake. The DOWASCO Head says the cooperation from the Salisbury community has been tremendous thus far.
Etinoffe says the final community to receive a regular water supply is Giraudel whose supply was seriously affected by the storm. He says that community's water supply was fully restored ahead of the Christmas season.
