The National Physical Development Plan has allowed the planning ministry to make better decisions in terms of land use in Dominica. That's according to Planning Minister Dr Colin McIntyre. In April 2016, the first draft of the National physical development plan which is to govern the appropriate use of land in Dominica for the next 20 years was presented to stakeholders and members of the media. Dr McIntyre says TS Erika which wreaked havoc on Dominica in August 2015 has taught the government and the country's citizens necessary lessons. He says precautionary measures will be taken in the future. He also briefed the media on the outcome of the consultation which was held in April. He says government is committed to keeping the unspoilt beauty of the island, while allowing modern development to take place. Planning Minister Dr Colin McIntyre
