Associate Professor of Psychology, Dr. Simone Mathieu, remarks that the passing of Ken Richards, a Dominican stalwart, should remind us to reflect on our own lives and how we may be remembered. She expressed that as we reflect on the life and legacy of Mr. Richards, it is clear that he was a man who lived with purpose and intention. From the many tributes to his humble and creative mind, Dr. Mathieu noted that we must think and question for ourselves: will we be remembered as being arrogant and self-centered, or will we be remembered for our humility and grace. Dr. Mathieu added that we should use this opportunity to reflect on who we are and the impact we are having on the world around us. She highlighted that we should not forget to take and acquire from the world, but rather to positively impact the lives of those whom we encounter.
