The Dominica Solid Waste Management Corporation says it is overwhelmed by the garbage coming from business places across the island. Public Relations Officer of the Dominica Solid Waste Management Corporation Jeno Jacob told state owned radio on Tuesday that by law the corporation is not obligated to collect waste from businesses. He says however, business owners should pay a small tipping fee to have their excessive garbage disposed at the landfill. Jacob says the company has taken steps to advise owners of disposal methods but it still remains an issue. According to Jacob, the Dominica Solid Waste Management Corporation is considering ways to step up its enforcement in that regard.
