Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL) Directors to meet in Dominica this Friday1/19/2016 The Eastern Caribbean Telecommunications Authority (ECTEL) Board of Directors will meet in Dominica on Friday, January 22nd, 2016. This 73rd Board meeting will review the electronic communications sector’s performance in 2015, and receive progress updates on discussions re a proposed agreement between Cable & Wireless, Flow and ECTEL, among other agenda items. The Board will also be updated on the status of the implementation of the CARCIP Project.
CARCIP is being implemented in three ECTEL Member St Grenada, Saint Lucia and St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Its development objective is: “to increase access to regional broadband networks and advance the development of ICT-enabled services industries in the Region”. ECTEL celebrated its 15th Anniversary on May 4, 2015 and initiated year-long celebrations to observe the milestone. Next Thursday’s launch of its Anniversary Magazine will be one of the events in the line-up of activities. The launch will also take place at the Fort Young Hotel.
