Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) Governor Timothy Antoine, met briefly with Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit yesterday, at the Office of the Prime Minister, and thereafter, he made a presentation to the Cabinet of Ministers, about the ongoing work of the ECCB.
Antoine is a national of Grenada. He took up duties as the third Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB) on 1st February 2016. He is a trained and experienced economist and development expert. Antoine served as Grenada’s Director on the Board of the ECCB, from 2002 to October 2005; and from January 2008 to January 2016. He served in Grenada Public Service for twenty-two years, mostly in the Ministry of Finance where he ultimately rose to the position of Senior Economist before being appointed Permanent Secretary, in which capacity he served for the periods August 1999 to October 2005, and January 2008 to January 2016. The primary objective of the ECCB is to maintain the stability of the Eastern Caribbean Currency, and the integrity of the banking system.
