Economist and Roseau Central MP says UWP foresaw the developing condition of Dominica’s reputation2/2/2017 Economist, Businessman and Roseau Central MP Joseph Isaac says the UWP had foreseen the current developing state of deterioration of Dominica’s reputation and that of its economy, and had warned Parliament about that matter during the 2016 national budget debate. Isaac is also of the view that monies have been handled in an extremely irresponsible manner by the DLP administration. Meanwhile, MP Joseph Isaac says the United Workers Party has been very responsible in educating the Dominican People about the problems being caused by the DLP administration.
Isaac told Q95 news that time and time again, the UWP encouraged the DLP Administration to invest in projects which would grow the economy, and put spending power back in the hands of the consumers. The Roseau MP added that a diversified economy should have been the priority of the DLP government, however its Leader, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit chose to depend on one income stream from the CBI Program, which according to the IMF is unsustainable and impractical. However, Prime Minister is on the record as saying, “If not the CBI Program, What else?” Isaac says such statements from a Leader of any country, shows he and his party have given up on working hard and building the country’s economy, and is only looking to take the easy way out.
