UWP Senator and Economist, Dr. Thompson Fontaine, wants a full-fledged investigation launched into the Panama Papers Affairs by local police. A database of documents relating to more than 200,000 offshore accounts posted online, includes information on a number of companies showing owners in Dominica. The Panama Papers is the largest ever release of secret offshore companies and the people behind them. The 11-million documents leaked from a Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca, show how some wealthy people use offshore firms to evade tax and avoid sanctions. Fontaine says the Panama papers provides sufficient information that there is wrongdoing going on and wants an investigation launched into the matter. Fontaine also listed the names of individuals linked to the Panama papers. He says it is for this reason an investigation is crucial to determine whether or not these persons are indeed involved in criminal proceedings or were dragged into the matter innocently.
