Education Minister Mr Petter St. Jean has expressed his delight at the initiation of the "I Can See Clearly" vision program as he believes that the program is a lifetime investment in the country’s future. St Jean says the rising numbers in vision issues in Dominica are surprising, therefore he assures the full commitment of both the Ministries of Health and Education, toward the success of this initiative. Meantime, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Mrs Helen Royer confirmed based on recent surveys, vision problems appear to growing among children, as over 9% of students are afflicted with vision problems in Dominica. As a result, the ministry has made plans to integrate this project into the school health care program in order to ensure the continuation of this project.
