Dominica’s Education Minister, Petter St Jean, says chronic non-communicable diseases continue to be a problem among the country’s youth.
St Jean says although focus is being placed on the prevention of these diseases, there continues to be an increase among the country’s children.
The minister says life has been made easy for children of this generation.
St Jean is appealing however to the communities to get involved in the schools to provide healthy and local foods for children.

Wednesday was observed as Caribbean Nutrition Day.
