Emile Antoine Raffoul, 36, of Copthall is the victim of a fatal motor cycle collision, at about 8:45PM under the Canefield cliffs, on the Edward Oliver LeBlanc Highway, on Saturday 30 January 2016. A report from the Police Public Relations Officer, Acting Inspector of Police Pelham Jno Baptiste confirmed the details. At the time of the collision, Raffoul was the rider of a Honda 1000CC street bike registration number PN986. “It is alleged that Raffoul’s street bike collided with the rear of a Nissan bus registration number HE043 driven by Newman Collins of Mahaut, and he lost control of his street bike. Both vehicles were travelling in a southerly direction,” Jno Baptiste reported on Sunday 31 January 2016.
The scene was processed by the Crime Scenes Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID). Raffoul was transported to the Accident and Emergency Department of the Princess Margaret Hospital, where he was officially pronounced dead by a medical doctor. A coroner’s inquest is to be convened while police investigations continue. Acting Inspector Pelham Jno Baptiste extended sympathy to Raffoul’s family and friends on behalf of the Police Department. Emile is the son of Antoine Raffoul, the proprietor of Raffoul & Company and Yvette Raffoul.
