Erna Reynolds, 24, of Massacre has won the 2016 Carnival Mother’s Queen title plus 7 other awards2/1/2016 Erna Reynolds, 24, of Massacre has won the 2016 Carnival Mother’s Queen title plus six other awards. Reynold completely outdid five other contestants at this year’s competition, which was staged at the Arawak House of Culture on Saturday 30th January 2016.
She also won awards for Best Talent, Best in Swimwear, Best Traditional Masquerade Wear and Best in Traditional Masquerade Wear. Additionally, she was named Miss Photogenic & Miss Intelligent. She stated ecstatically, “I feel delighted. I feel great. Words cannot explain how I feel right now”. She gratefully thanked all of her supporters. “It helped a lot. When I heard them, that just gave me the strength to just do what I had to do,” she said. She hopes to spread the message that mothers can be responsible, and yet have fun. Tara Oscar of Portsmouth was judged 1st runner-up and got awards for Best Evening Wear, Best in Evening Wear and Best Swimwear. Latisha Lockhart represented Newtown and Pointe Michel. She placed 2nd Runner-Up and won the award for Miss Amity. Last year’s winner, Frances Lockhart was present at the event.
