Five NBD customers have been rewarded for using their Debit cards at point of sale machines10/27/2016 Five National Bank of Dominica Ltd (NBD) customers have been rewarded for using their Debit cards at point of sale machines.
The Bank embarked on a ‘Swipe Local’ card from a 1st October 2016 campaign, encouraging customers to use their card instead of cash. Cards have long been established internationally as the faster, safer and more convenient way of making payments compared to cheques or cash. According to a release, the five customers, Vaughn Royer from St. Joseph; Jenner Boston from Portsmouth; Chris Blackmore from La Plaine; Juannah Jno-Lewis from Laudat and Josephat Williams from Portsmouth each won a season ticket to the World Creole Music Festival. The Swipe Local Promotion is being held during the Independence season, in support of this year’s theme, “Strengthening Our Commitment to Nation Building”, by promoting a more efficient way for citizens to do business. The promotion seeks to encourage persons to use their cards to pay for items at local merchants. The Swipe Local Campaign continues throughout November. At the end of November, five more customers will be rewarded $250 each, for using their debit cards at point of sale machines.
