Foreign Affairs Minister says Peace Corps volunteer program has had a great impact across Dominica1/22/2016 Foreign Affairs Minister Francine Baron says the Peace Corps volunteer program has had a significant impact on a wide range of sectors and communities across Dominica. Six new Peace Corps volunteers were sworn into service in Dominica Wednesday. The 6 have been on island since August 2015 working in various primary schools across the island. However, the swearing in ceremony was postponed due to the passage of Tropical Storm Erika. Meanwhile Baron says the volunteers have come to Dominica at a critical stage of Dominica’s recovery. The Peace Corps program in Dominica is part of a sub-regional Peace Corps program for the Eastern Caribbean headquartered in St Lucia. Currently there are over 55 Peace Corps volunteers assigned to serve in the Eastern Caribbean.
