Former Dominica Ambassador views the UN Presidency of the late John Ashe as an eye-opener for the Caribbean
Former Dominican Ambassador to the UN, Crispin Gregoire, believes that John Ashe’s Presidency was a significant eye-opener for the Caribbean, in that he was the 3rd person from the Caribbean to become the president of the General Assembly.
Mr. Gregoire added that Ashe in his presidency paved the way for the sustainable development goals which replaced the millennium development goals, and was the chairman of the Kyoto protocol negotiation stream, in the Climate Change negotiation process.
