Former Roseau City Mayor rejects WAWU proposal for an increased subvention to Roseau City Council
Meanwhile, Former Mayor of the City of Roseau, Cecil Joseph had responded to the proposal made by the Water front and Allied Workers Union (WAWU), indicating that the current subvention from government is sufficient for the Roseau City Council to effectively carry out its maintenance functions.
Mr. Joseph added that in the past during his tenure as Mayor, whenever it was anticipated that payments could not made on time to fortnightly paid workers, they were informed in advance. He concluded that the union should not request a further subvention from government.
