GEF National Coordinator announces the official Launch of the GEF Small Grants Program Phase 6

National Coordinator for ‘The GEF’ Agnes Esprit, has announced that the Official Launch of Phase 6 of the GEF Small Grants Programme (SGP) Operations, will soon take place.
 
The event will be held on Tuesday 22nd November, 2016 at The Fort Young Hotel Conference Room from 9:00 a.m. At this event, the strategic initiatives, objectives, and plans for OP6 will be presented. Results of OP5 will be showcased through presentations by grantees, and exhibition of products from SGP projects. Information on environmental areas of focus and the SGP grant making process, will also be shared, to increase awareness and understanding amongst the public.
 
Esprit said, The Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) embodies the very essence of sustainable development by "thinking globally and acting locally." It provides financial and technical support to projects that conserve and restore the environment, while enhancing people's well-being and livelihoods.
 
According to Esprit, during Operational Phase 6 (OP6), SGP continues to demonstrate that community action can maintain the fine balance between human needs and environmental imperatives.
