The Government of Dominica has collaborated with the CARICOM Education for Employment Unit, to host a two-day CARICOM Vocational Qualification (CVQ) Sensitization Program in Dominica from March 9th to 10th 2016.
This program is geared at strengthening the regional implementation of the Caribbean Vocational Qualification, and to aid in the implementation of the CVQ in Dominica. It will also focus on bringing awareness of the CVQ to the private sector. According to Education Minister Petter St Jean, the forum will address CVQ & it’s potential for strengthening the economic competitiveness of the region, and giving industry leaders the opportunity to contribute to a progressive plan for its implementation in Dominica. Additionally, he says the forum will bring to the attention of the private sector, the new CARICOM approved TVET strategy, by detailing the seven pillars upon which the region has agreed to build its TVET development agenda.
