With the issues of vagrancy, litter, crime and security still creating problems for the overall visitor experience here, PM Roosevelt Skerrit says he has written a letter to stakeholders within the tourism industry, with a view to instituting a task force to address these issues.
PM Skerrit says the Government alone cannot address these issues and the task force made up of both private and public sector individuals, will outline recommendations to cabinet on the way forward to deal with these burning concerns. He says once these recommendations are submitted, the Government will make available the necessary resources. Clip: The issue of vagrancy and indiscriminate dumping of garbage have been two major concerns which have plagued the tourism industry for quite some time now. While recommendations have been made in the past to address them, no significant attempt has been made in that regard.
