Government of Dominica reshuffles Seven (7) Senior Public Officers around to various Ministries2/2/2017 The Government of Dominica has reshuffled Seven (7) Senior Public Officers around to various Ministries. Effective 1st February 2017, two public officers assumed the role of Acting Permanent Secretaries, while five Permanent Secretaries have been reassigned to other Ministries.
According to a release, the changes are in an effort to create an atmosphere that is conducive to increased productivity across the public service. This is said to have come after a recent series of discussions by the Committee of Permanent Secretaries. CXC Registrar Chandler Hyacinth is now Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education; Deputy Registrar Jo-Anne Commodore has been assigned to act as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice. Former PS in the Ministry of Justice, Davis Letang, has been reassigned to the Ministry of Health; and Helen Royer, Former PS in the Ministry of Health will now serve as PS in the Ministry of Social Services. Careen Prevost, who was recently moved from Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to the Ministry of Social Services, is now assigned to the Ministry of Tourism & Urban Renewal. Dr Gerard Jean Jacques, former Acting PS in the Public Works Ministry, is now Acting PS in the Office of Prime Minister; and Denise Edwards, Acting PS in the Ministry of Tourism is now PS in the Public Works Ministry.
