The Government today signed a contract with Fortify Construction to commence repair works to the roof of the Windsor Park Sports Stadium. The project costing to the tune of XCD$404,000, will include removal of 100% of the galvanized sheeting of the Irving and Grayson Shillingford stand and removal of the affected galvanize sheeting of the roofs of both the Kaleb Laurent and Clem George Stand and the Norbert Phillip and Adam Sandford Stand and replacement with new PVF2 U Profile 24 gauge zinc sheeting. Sports Coordinator, Trevor Shillingford, says the investments on the Windsor Park Sports Stadium is money well spent given its impact on the lives of citizens and the economy. Meanwhile, Prime Minister, Roosevelt Skerrit, says maintenance of state buildings has been a problem for many small islands. However, he says the Sports Ministry is currently in the process of implementing a maintenance plan for the Stadium.
