Government has taken a decision to amend the legislation in which the island scholar is chosen. This was announced by Education Minister Petter St Jean. During a press conference to announce the country's 2016 island scholar on Monday, the coordinator of the A Level program at the Dominica State College, Henry Volney, called for a review of the law in which the island scholar was chosen. These are the views expressed by Volney in relation to the selection process. The results of the 2016 Cambridge A Level Exams were announced and Al Akel Parillon was announced as the country's island scholar.
