A group of twenty students from Suriname are currently on island to study the implementation of the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) in Dominica.
The CARICOM Secretariat in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade and the Regional Integration Unit is executing the project " Students Engaging the CSME through field promotion".
According to a release, this activity entails training youth to identify and develop responses to CSME opportunities, with the objective to engage the next generation in identifying career opportunities.
The students will be on island until May 27, 2016 observing CSME arrangements, and will interact with various agencies and bodies involved in the implementation of the CSME.
While here, they will visit the Ross University, the Cabrits National Park, the Roseau Valley, the Kalinago Territory and a number of institutions.
Last year, twenty students of the DSC along with a management team visited St. Lucia on a similar exercise.
