The National HIV/Aids Program Unit together with its partners have been involved with in the hands up for HIV Prevention Campaign where the public was being invited to write a word or phrase on their palm which says how the unit can improve their prevention efforts.
Persons were then asked to take a photo of this message and post on social media using the hash tag :767 HIV Prevention.
The unit hosted a health fair at the parking lot of the Dominica Planned Parenthood Association where free HIV testing was offered, as well as counselling, pap smears, educational talks, HIV trivia and the opportunity to discuss how persons can better protect their sexual health.
Health Educator assigned to the HIV Unit Allison Samuel highlighted some areas in which Dominica can improve in its fight against HIV & Aids.
Samuel says the issue of lubricant distribution is also of importance especially for persons partaking in anal sex.
