Health Ministry says over 500 will benefit from Venezuelan Miracle Mission Eye Care Program
Health Minister Dr. Kenneth Darroux, says phase 1 of the Venezuela-funded Miracle Mission Eye Care Program has been a success, as over 2,000 Dominicans are said to have benefited from the program.
The program started in the Roseau Health District on December 4th 2016, and continued across the other six health districts on island.
Dr. Darroux says over 500 patients have been identified for possible surgical intervention when the Venezuelan team returns next year.
Meanwhile, he says this program does not in no way substitute the island's ongoing Ophthalmologic Eye Program.
