IT Minister Kelver Darroux acknowledges the issue of crime & violence among the country's youth

​Information Technology (IT) Minister Kelver Darroux acknowledges the issue of crime & violence among the country's youth.  He says careful consideration needs to be given to tackling that issue.
Darroux says a new national youth policy is being developed for Dominica, and it will be implemented by the Youth Division in the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture & Constituency Empowerment.
A ceremony was held Wednesday to sensitize the public about the plans under consideration. Darroux represented Youth Minister Justina Charles at that ceremony. He says the police need to tackle head-on, the issue of crime and violence affecting the country's youth.

Youth Development expert Henry Charles has been recruited by the Commonwealth Secretariat, through the Commonwealth Fund for Technical cooperation (CFTC), to provide a 6-month technical support for the review of the policy.
The review process commenced on July 1st 2016, and is expected to be completed by December 31, 2016.
