The saga of the West Bridge contract and other projects continues as the JCCCS and Government Officials head to court today, Chairman of the Joint Consultative Committee on the Construction Sector (JCCCS) Tony Le Blanc has confirmed.
Leblanc in an official release stated “Among those served are Minister of Finance, Minister of Public Works, PS Public Works, Chief Procurement Officer and Members of the Central Procurement Board.” Earlier this year the JCCCS wrote an open letter to the Prime Minister saying “The exclusion of all local contractors, engineers, architects and builders from participating in this and other noted procurement events has dealt a death blow to nationalism and zeal for development of country.” Meanwhile the bridge has been demolished indicating that work on the project has commenced. The $18-million contract was signed between NSG Management and Technical Services Limited of Barbados, on Wednesday, April13, 2016, which encompassed the demolition and reconstruction of the bridge and other projects.
