The Kalinago Youth Council has donated relief supplies towards Haiti due to the ravages caused by a Category Four Hurricane Mathew. Vice President of the group, Paul Baron commended the Kalinago Youth Council and the students of the schools in the Kalinago Territory, Atkinson and Antrizle for providing assistance to the Red Cross on Friday Morning.
Baron “It goes a long way in saying how caring that they can be for their fellow human beings,” he said. “The fact is the Kalinago Territory is a major recipient of aid, therefore it was only fitting that the students return a favor. As a collective effort, we were able to amass a number of can foods and other dry goods which will go a long way towards ensuring a family or an individual has food to eat.” He thanked all the schools who came on board especially the Atkinson Primary School, Light House Christian Academy and Salybia Primary School. “We would like to encourage the public particularly the business community as echoed by the Prime Minister to assist the Haitian community because they are in dire need,” Baron noted.
