The La Plaine Disaster Preparedness Management Committee (DPR) Committee is convening a public meeting to find solutions to a major river pollution problem in its most important river. Chairman Jason Fontaine has invited all residents to attend that meeting at the Willis Junction on 28th of August 2016. Fontaine told Q95 the meeting will discuss the way forward to find solutions to the pollution which has occurred to the Taberi River, which is allegedly being caused by a Prominent Pig Farmer in the La Plaine Community, whose farm is allegedly releasing pig faeces and urine into the river. Reports also indicate that this Pig Farmer was approached by members of the community, and all official and processes to stop the farmer from polluting the Taberi River have been exhausted, and that few options were left besides legal or other actions. Q95 news will continue to follow up on this story, as more information becomes available.
