Newly elected LaPlaine Village Councillor Jason Fontaine told q95, there will not be an inauguration in LaPlaine, before the proper chairperson is selected, to head the operations of the LaPlaine Village Council. Currently the inauguration ceremony is carded for Friday February 2nd 2017. Fontaine stressed that LaPlaine residents do not want Rose Blaize as the Chairwoman on the Village Council. He says they are calling for Kervin Bateau, who actually topped the polls in the recent council elections, to be appointed as Chairperson. Meantime, LaPlaine Village Councillor, Jason Fontaine, is calling on Minister for Social Services Catherine Daniel, to revisit the Government’s nominees for the LaPlaine Village Council.
Fontaine says the political tactic implemented by the DLP Government is not sitting well with people of LaPlaine. Fontaine told Q95 news the majority of the people of LaPlaine want change, and they demonstrated that during the recent Village Council Elections, and did so again, at a Public meeting which his team held on Sunday night.
