LIAT to allow customers affected by ‘Zika’ Travel Advisory to change flights at no additional cost2/12/2016 Customers who had reserved bookings with LIAT on or before February 10, 2016, and are concerned about travelling to destinations reported by the Centre for Disease Control & prevention to be affected by Zika Viral Illness, are being advised of changes they will be able to make to their bookings.
In a statement, the airline advised customers that changes can be made to their dates of travel to the same destination, at no charge, they may also change the destination without incurring a change fee. However, if the fare for the new reservation is higher, they will be required to pay the difference in the fee. Customers are also being told that they may cancel the booking entirely and LIAT will offer a full credit and waive the cancellation fee. Customers have up to March 14, 2016 to make these changes. CDC’s advisory recently announced that Zika-affected areas include the following LIAT destinations: Barbados, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Martinique, Puerto Rico, Saint Martin and United States Virgin Islands.
