Opposition Leader, Lennox Linton, says he will do his best to pay the Privy Council order of£20,000 to Chartered Accountant Kieron Pinard- Byrne by the February 22nd 2016 deadline.
In a letter dated February 3rd 2016, Linton was told by attorneys representing Pinard-Byrne that if he fails to comply with the demand, enforcement proceedings will be instituted against him and/or property he may own or have interest in.
The judgement by the London-based Privy Council was delivered on January 29th 2016 and indicated that Linton has 21 days from the date of order to pay the sum.
Linton was recently ordered to pay Pinard-Byrne EC$79,324.86 in the same matter by the High Court in Dominica. The payment was made on Thursday January 21st 2016. Over EC$100,000 was raised by Dominicans both here and abroad to assist Linton in meeting these fees.
