Foreign Affairs Minister, Sen. Francine Baron, has denied a request of Opposition Leader, Lennox Linton to reveal the names of persons, not members of parliament, issued with diplomatic passports or status on behalf of Dominica from July 1st 2000 to June 30th 2016. Linton requested further that she make public the dates of issue of the diplomatic appointments and the commencement date of the diplomatic engagement to include appointments which may have been withdrawn prior to expiration. But in response, Senator Baron, said " effective foreign policy is never practiced in the media or the public domain." She stated further that while the government has no problem revealing such information it remains opposed to the idea of divulging such detailed information in a public forum. Linton however, felt his question was not unreasonable and questioned whether the names of persons appointed diplomatic passports and status not the business of the Dominican public.
