Local Government awarded 12 farmers & vendors at 2016 Portsmouth Market Day with a Difference10/24/2016 The Local Government Department awarded twelve farmers and vendors as part of Market Day with a Difference 2016 in Portsmouth on Saturday 22nd October.
Randy Williams, 59, received five awards; most impressive vendor; most impressive farmer, biggest crop (a 34-pound pumpkin), most outstanding farmer overall; and most diversified farmer. The other awards were presented to the following persons: Matthias Debonnes - Best presented/decorated stall Josephat Williams - Best dressed male vendor Anelta Abraham - Best dressed female vendor Tiffany St Jean - Best dress buyer (young) Carlene Rolle - Best dressed buyer (female) Leah Laramount - Most impressive young vendor Skelford Laudat - Most impressive butcher Olive George - Biggest fruit – (14 hand banana) Catherine Dubois - Biggest root crop (sweet potato) Muriel Baptiste - Most consistent vendor Patrickson Prince - Most outstanding fish vendor ‘Market Day with a Difference’ is observed to highlight the hard work of farmers and vendors, and their contributions to national development. Information, Science, Telecommunications and Technology Minister Kelvar Darroux represented Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, and presented the awards to the recipients.
