Local Government officials appear to be satisfied with turn out across the island, during the 2016 Community Day of Service. They view this as a sign of its sustainability in the future.
Ag Assistant Local Government Commissioner Glenroy Toussaint says there was satisfactory participation from all 7 districts with a marked increase in the involvement of the Dominican youth.
Toussaint provided a post community day update.
This year Government funded 109 projects at a cost of $200,000. Toussaint is urging members of the public wishing to continue projects beyond community day of service, to create partnerships through the local Government department.
