Mayor of the city of Roseau, Irene John, says the Roseau City Council has exhausted all options at resolving the issue of illegal vending around the city. City officials have been expressing concerns over the level of vending on the streets of the capital for several years now. John proposed a special location for the vendors while stating she wanted to see a more organized and attractive city. Roseau Market Superintendent, Julius Carbon, has also added his voice to the matter saying, side walk vending and the sale of market produce on the streets are long standing issues that need to be addressed. However to date there is still vending across the city outside of various supermarkets. The Mayor says it is left to the Dominica Police Force at this time to resolve these illegal vending.
